Steve Ayling hails originally from Birmingham, England, and earned his B.Ed. (Hons) in 1999 from Exeter University. He brings eleven years of teaching experience with him to the Guidance Department. Steve began teaching at ISM in 2002 in the Elementary School where he established the ES Student Council and was Program Leader in Grade 3 for three years. He moved on to Middle School where he taught for a further three years in Grades 6 and 7. Moving to HS Guidance for grades 9 and 10 has been an exciting challenge for Steve and he has many of his past students again! (Hopefully they are not all sick of him by now!) He is also working with Elizabeth Mohr and Doug McQueen on their Peer Helper initiatives. Steve's wife Natalya, teaches in Pre-School and he has two daughters, Sophia and Eva; Sophia is in the Pre-School Program while Eva is due to enroll next year. Steve has a love for football and has coached MS and HS Football teams for boys and girls. He has recently completed his Masters Degree through Buffalo State University, New York, and is a member of the American School's Counselor Association (ASCA). He is now embarking on further training in the field of Guidance and Counseling through the Counseling Training Center (CTC) Program. Steve enjoys playing football and tennis, splashing around in the pool with his daughters and traveling to new places. For further posts, news, updates and discussions, please click the links below...
